The Clockmaker’s Dream is essentially a silent film with very occasional narration. The orchestral score programmatically narrates the Clockmaker’s emotional journey. A Clockmaker is entrusted to care for a world that runs like clockwork. But when his heart gets broken he rages against time itself only to discover that unless he finds a cure for a broken heart everything will end.
Two main themes define these two aspects of his world. The score closely undescores his movenment. It animates and brings colour to his personality and plight. The musical themes develop and intertwine to deliniate and ultimately unify his world.
