ANZ – holdtight

The brief was to compose a piece that loosely matched the cuts, sets the tone and shapes the narrative.  The music should blend the stories together and have it’s own internal voice, driving the film and not just echoing the cuts.  It was important to maintain a simple and repetitive harmony throughout, with the piano performance carrying the emotional journey.  The strings climax, played high up the neck of the instrument for a longing lyrical sound, with a swell at the Logo, and then drive us triumphantly towards the future.
